Nice To Meet You.
I'M LAURA, founder of This is Tuition.
For the past 24 years, I've been dedicated to helping people, driven by a passion that began in the classroom, evolved through my roles in educational leadership, and is now centred on providing comprehensive support to empower primary school-aged children on their educational journeys.
I work with a fabulous team of tutors who have similar values as me. At our core, we believe in the power of learning, and strive to inspire that same belief in others. This passion motivates us to continually develop our skills, ensuring that we can help your child understand their unique strengths and thrive with confidence.

I believe in the power of transformation.
Every child has the strength to overcome challenges and grow into a confident learner. As the founder of This is Tuition, I am honoured to walk beside you on this journey, offering guidance, support, and a roadmap to help build your child’s self-esteem.
Every child deserves the opportunity to reach their full potential, and I am committed to creating an inclusive environment where your child is recognised, supported, and celebrated for their unique abilities and strengths.

Here goes the process
01
Complete the enquiry form to express an interest in tuition. At this stage, it is purely an expression of interest.
02
Once your enquiry has been received, we will schedule a time to discuss your child's main needs.
03
After the initial discovery call, I will pair you with a tutor, send contracts and a starting date for the tuition.
Let Me Tell You
MY STORY
From a young age, I knew that I wanted to be a teacher. I went straight from school to university to train to become a teacher and thoroughly enjoyed supporting young people to learn.
During my teaching career, I have held a number of roles including class teacher, head of department, SENCo and member of a senior leadership team.
Several years ago, I decided that I wanted to leave the classroom and fully focus on providing tuition and dyslexia assessing. I could see that support outside of the classroom could have a significant impact on a child's confidence and self-esteem. I wanted to move away from the politics associated with teaching and go back to doing what I loved by having an impact on supporting children without the onerous and bureaucratic tasks that teachers have become accustomed to.
As a parent, I value the importance of supporting a child's confidence and self-esteem. I feel strongly that learning should be enjoyable for children.
